Photo at left shows the building and a good shot of Roberts Street.  IOOF Hall and Hardware Store are next to Post office.  Brick  building was built in 1910.  Up to this time the post office was in an old baggage car next to the present station, the Clay Home next to the Temperance Hotel, Mezaanine floor of Simon Leiser's store and the back of msc. retail extablishments in Ladysmith.  The construction of the Post Office and Custom's Building signaled the recognition of Ladysmith.
