This is the general location of Simon Leiser's General Store.  Originally brought down from Wellington it was first known as Hamburger and Leiser's.  It burned down and Leiser built a new store and took sole ownership.He actually had 3 stores, the photo at the right being his original one..  It was also the post office. When the Lucitania was sunk by the germans he personally suffered because of his german sounding name.  He sold everything and left Vancouver Island.
