Ladysmith, Then and Now

Comox Railway and Logging Company

Circa (1949)
Most Recent (2008)

The office was designed to look more like a residence than an office. It was started in 1946 and officially opened in 1947.  When the company moved out of the building it was the first location of George's Restaurant.  Noted for it's seafood, view of the harbour and huge fireplace.  Unfortunately it is now an empty lot (due to highway widening) at the corner of Esplanade and Roberts (road to the beach). Photo at left shows the second location of the Cenotaph which was later moved to its present location (click it for better image).
